Full Description

If you enter the site through the parking area, you will see a fully fenced and well-kept garden. The ensemble consists of, in order, a barn with bread-oven, a house to be renovated and an almost completely renovated house.

The renovated house is the third in the row and exudes a charming atmosphere and consists of a ground floor with a dining area and a modern kitchen with a wooden worktop. In the fireplace, where the opening for the bread oven used to be, there is a wood stove that heats this room. The joined walls and light beamed ceilings ensure a pleasant atmosphere. In addition to the kitchen, an entrance / utility room and a bathroom with bath, sink and toilet. The ceiling height in the bathroom is somewhat lower (1.90 m).

There is a canopy for the utility room where you can sit in the shade, or where you can sit outside in the evening.

There is an authentic stone staircase to the floor. Special here is the brine hole that is located under the stairs. To be used as a dog or cat basket, but at the time used to preserve meat or vegetables. The living room is on the first floor. At the rear a lightly executed library cupboard, a new wooden floor and a wood stove. White walls, joined stone walls, elaborate door and window openings, old windows with rod distribution: a good combination of fresh modern and authenticity. A special detail is the void.

A floor higher, a bedroom has been realised which, in addition to a skylight, also has a large window to the vide for the necessary light.

From the living room you enter a barn. There is a window party (with door) to the street side. An additional living room has been realised in this barn. This is an "unfinished block". The beautiful bedroom has a cupboard wall and still has a visible truss construction.

The rest of the barn can be used in in many ways. There is a staircase to the basement, which is also accessible from outside. Next to the house an intermediate house. The surprise when you enter here is that there is no longer any floor in between. You look to the bottom of the roof with the two skylights on the 2nd floor!

On the ground floor there is an opening to a vaulted cellar room. This also has a door to the kitchen of the neighbouring property. If desired, both houses can therefore be connected very well. The walls are sandblasted, there is no electricity or water. There is a large fireplace on the ground floor and also a fireplace on the 1st floor.

There is an opening on the 1st floor to the adjacent barn. The total surface area is more than 30 m2 per layer. A project that you can start without camping as you're comfortable in the house next door!

On the left side of the house to renovate a small shed with bread oven.

The terrain is approximately 710 m2. The garden, completely fenced, covers approximately 650 m2 and has various sun and shade areas. Outside the fence is the entrance to the storage / basement room. You have immediate neighbours here, because there is a house next door. The neighbours have access to their house via the paved path that runs behind the (raised) garden.

Three more plots belong to the house. One of them is located just behind the garden, about 300 m2 in size. Here is the drain field of the septic tank. This a fairly overgrown plot. There are two plots on the opposite side of the street. One can be used as a parking space, the other is an overgrown plot.

The ensemble is situated in a quiet hamlet that consists of a number of houses, most of which are permanently inhabited.

For the shops, go to Peyrat-le-Chateau, which can be reached in 10 minutes drive.

The department of Haute-Vienne is in the region of Limousin and boasts a varied landscape of forests, countryside and lakes that attract many tourists each year looking for a range of activities including walking, fishing, sailing, boating and skiing.

In addition, the department has a strong historical and cultural heritage and the landscape is dotted with Roman churches, abbeys and fortified castles. Beautiful man-made beaches are easily accessible and are a good alternative for a great day out. In particular, the Lake of Vassiviere, created in 1950, is extremely popular with visitors.

It is sometimes known as the Land of a Thousand Lakes, the Limousin and its Haute-Vienne department offer beautiful and preserved landscapes. Waterfalls sparkling in the middle of rocks and trees, myriads of flowers and impressive dense forests are the kind of treasures that can be discovered in the department.

Transport links are good too, the easy and cheap access from the United Kingdom with companies as Ryanair or from French cities made that Limoges and the Haute-Vienne became an attractive destination. There is also a project of enlargement for Limoges' airport.

The department has a semi-continential climate with summer temperatures in the mid 20's, perfect for enjoying the scenery.
