ABOUT THE AREA

Gensac is a traditional, large village with very pretty stone houses, and regular events and activities. It is close to the Dordogne river and within easy access of the larger towns of St Emilion, Castillon la Bataille and Ste Foy la Grande. The village has several shops and cafes, tennis courts and a small weekly market on a Friday. A new medical centre is currently under construction.These are supplemented by more small shops and restaurants in nearby Pessac which is on the banks of the Dordogne, where you can also go canoeing in the summer. The area has a strong winemaking tradition and is very popular with holiday makers, second home owners and the international community.
