Within 20 to 30 minutes' drive there are many nice beaches such as Triopetra, the sand dunes of Agios Pavlos and the famous beach with the palm forest of Preveli. The city center of Rethymno is about 40 minutes' drive.
The surrounding countryside is a walkers’ paradise, whilst for the beach lovers there are numerous unspoiled coves and the wonderful beaches of Triopetra, Ligres, Agios Pavlos, Plakias and Souda, all within 20-30 minutes by car from Spili.
