Full Description

The property is completely fenced and walled and has a pedestal entrance and an electric vehicle entrance from the road.
The property is connected to mains water and has a bore hole. There is mains electricity and it has its private power supply by a large solar panel installation.
There is central heating throughout the house, run by a log burner with back burner installed in the living room. There are air-con units for cooling and heating in both bedrooms and in the living room.
As we come in through the vehicle entrance, there is a wide driveway giving access to the garage, which has a large roll door, to the large car port with fully insulated roof and to the drive which gives access to the plot. Next to the house we have the solar panel installation, with automatic sun orientation.
Coming in through the pedestal entrance, we reach the front entrance door. This door opens into a corridor, from which we have two doors to the right, one to a bedroom and another to an office. To the left, there is a door to the spacious master bedroom.
At the end of the corridor, there is a hall which has the door to the spacious, fully tiled bathroom with walk in shower with glass door, a suspended toilet and a double wash basin with storage space beneath. In addition to the central heating, there is underfloor heating in the bathroom.
In the hall, there is a hatch in the ceiling, allowing metal a ladder to unfold to access the open space attic.
From the hall, we walk into the light flooded open space kitchen / diner/ living room. On the right hand side, the corner of the room is round, with three large panorama windows. We have underfloor heating in the living room and the log burner with back boiler as well as air-con unit. The fully equipped kitchen is to the left hand side and we have a large island with an integrated induction cooker and large extractor hood above. We have access to the veranda to the rear of the house by a double door.
There is a second entrance door to the side of the house, which also opens into a hall, from which there is an entrance to the kitchen on the right hand side. Up front there are two doors: one to a metal winding staircase which leads into the garage, and another one to the partially tiled laundry room.
Going down the spiral stairs, we find ourselves in the large garage. At the far end of the garage we have the machine room, housing the elements for the hot water supply of the house.
The windows and doors of the house are all double glazed with exterior electric rolling blinds and mosquito netting.
To the rear of the house, there is a wonderful spacious open, partially tiled outdoor kitchen with lots of space for a large table and many chairs. We have a bbq and a double drainer and a large l-shaped work surface. This space offers shade on hot days and protection on rainy, yet warm days, to fully enjoy your meals and leisure hours al fresco.
The house has a veranda all around, and to the rear there are some steps down to the pool area. The pool water is heated by solar panels.
The plot of land to the rear of the house is well established and immaculately maintained and boasts uncountable varieties of decorative trees, bushes and flowers and an abundancy of different fruit trees. There are a good number of water taps all around to make life easy. The plot is set over seven flat terraces, with little height difference between them and soft steps from one to the other. At the end of the plot there is a vegetable garden.
In a private spot on the land we have a caravan, suitable to accommodate visitors. For the visitors´ convenience and to shower after garden work, there is a building housing a bathroom with pedestal sink, toilet and shower cubicle, a hair dryer and a kitchen sink.
The property is located on a quiet land on the outskirts of a small hamlet in the area of Serra, Tomar. Serra has several cafes, restaurants and a small mini-market. There is a weekly market on Sundays.
The property is only a five minute drive from the shores of the Castelo do Bode dam, where you can hang out all by yourself and go for a swim, or launch your boar, go fishing or have a pic nic. Castelo do Bode lake is popular for all kinds of water sport activities including swimming, sailing, canoeing, scuba diving, wind surfing and water skiing, and also supplies the drinking water to Lisbon and other towns.
We are a four minute drive from the center of the village of Serra. It´s 13 km, or a 15 minute drive from the center of Tomar. There is a public bus almost in front of the property, the bus going to Tomar.
Tomar is a bustling market town, which has a good variety of supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, banks, shops, pharmacies, health centers, sports centers, library, university, hospital, bus and train station, historic monuments and parks.
The nearest beach on the Atlantic Ocean is an hour´s drive away.
