Full Description

A gem of a property set in a private and breathtakingly beautiful location.

This gem of a property is accessed along a lane which meanders through the olive groves from a village dominated by a castle. The medieval town of Licciana Nardi with shops, restaurant, schools and bank is 5 minutes drive. The position offers unequalled wide views over the countryside.

The stone house which was recently restored by the present owners is set in land of 9,000 sqm with fruit and olive trees.

Entrance is to a welcoming entrance hall from where you walk through to the well-equipped rustic kitchen with exposed stone walls and marble worktop. The large living room has large picture windows and a glass door which leads out to the garden and pool area. This room is so large that it could easily be divided to form an additional bedroom plus living area, or even two bedrooms. A wooden staircase leads to the double bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The bedroom also has a door with steps down to the garden.

The built in barbecue and pergola outside are perfect for enjoying the warm summer evening and watching the sunset.

The house is complete with central heating and wood burning stove. Private parking.

The house is only 5 minutes from the lovely town of Licciana Nardi, which is a town in the Taverone valley with 13th century pedestrian street flanked with local shops. Central in the town is the Piazza del Municipio which hosts the Malaspina castle and many festivals such as the Chestnut Festival in the autumn. There is also a bank, schools, restaurants and medical facilities. The nearby village of Monti has a castle on the hill above and offers a good selection of amenities.

Lunigiana is a magical part of Tuscany The rolling landscape is liberally sprinkled with castles of Medici or Malaspina vintage but for lovers of the coast the sea is only half-an-hours’ drive away. Lunigiana is special and has been likened to a magical kingdom. It is not only the breath-taking scenery with its abundance of medieval castles but there is also a huge sense of well being radiating from the sunshine, glorious countryside, delicious food and wine, kind friendly locals and most importantly, from the sense of tradition and community among the people. The golden sandy beaches around Lerici and the pebble coves of the Cinque Terre are ideal for swimming and sailing. The area is criss-crossed with marked footpaths for walks to the hills and mountains. The airports of Pisa, Parma and Genova are all within an hours’ drive.

Distances: Aulla with motorway and train station (also to Cinque Terre) is 10 km, Beaches 35 km, Lucca 90 km, Pisa airport 90 km, Florence 150 km.
