This beautifully restored farmhouse can be found about 2 km from the centre of Abbateggio, a characteristic village in the Maiella National Park
The stone-built property, which is currently used as holiday rental accommodation is divided into 3 separate apartments. Apartment 1 - on one floor – 1 bedroom, kitchen/lounge with fireplace, bathroom. There is also a separate large store on this floor, which could be converted into more living space. Apartment 2 - on one floor – 1 bedroom, kitchen/lounge with fireplace, bathroom. Apartment 3 – on 2 floors – kitchen with fireplace, living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. The land contains 80 olive trees, fruit trees and many other mature trees, such as oak and cypress, and woodland. It is 500 m above sea level. There are lovely views across the hills towards the mountains.
The renovation of the farmhouses has been carried out with the utmost respect for the structures, traditional colours and materials using only stone, wood, brick, wrought iron and natural brass. The colour-wash painting of the rooms has been done with natural earth pigments, the flooring is in linseed-treated, handmade terracotta, the ceilings are made of wooden beams, joists and terracotta flat tiles. There is underfloor heating.
Abbateggio is situated on the northern slopes of Majella along the road that goes from the motorway tollgate at Scafa (A25) to the well-known spa, Caramanico Terme. It is 40km from Pescara and about 200km from Rome.
