When you look at off grid properties in Valencia usually you tend to think they are in the back of beyond, well away from the madding crowd, great for occasional use but not a permanent place because it may be too isolated. From the end of the private track leading to the house you can see the church in the centre of Cheste rising up in the near distance and it gives you the idea that you are not out in the wilds but much more connected to others. The house is not a looker but it is solid and dependable. The flat roof has recently been waterprooofed and with the huge storms in the last couple of weeks that came in useful with no water ingress at all. . . The fenced plot area has a outhouse which holds the water storage, water is supplied from the houses own borehole which is an unusual huge advantage in this property as it goes down to the water table at 140m deep. The outhouse also holds the array of batteries and solar panels that give the property its off grid status. There is also a back up generator which as far as the owners know has never kicked in due to the nature of the excellence of the solar system they have installed. It is only used to pump the water from the borehole into the large water tanks and even then it takes less than 15 minutes. . . There is a large covered terrace with lovely views over the surrounding vineyards and to the rear of the house is another storeroom with filter for the pool, washing room and paellero. The pool is raised to the rear of the house and again enjoys nice views over the local countryside. . . The house is around 300m away from the nearest tarmacced road and has its own driveway through the almond groves.It has a fully fenced area which is protected by an alarm system too. . . Living off grid is a challenge for many people but this house takes away most of that challenge and allows you a good quality of life breathing lovely fresh air but just 25 minutes away from Valencia City and twenty minutes to the airport.
