Pilar is a traditional Spanish town and celebrates a number of local fiestas or festivals throughout the year, including the Medieval Market in April, Bonfires of San Juan in June together with the floral festival. The town is steeped in history and has its local fiesta or festival at the end of September culminating in a solemn mass on 12th October.

The town has many restaurants with an eclectic mix of cuisines on offer. These are located all  along the main central street –  Calle Mayor – which runs the entire length of the town. At the northern end of the town you will find the main town square (Plaza Iglesia) bordered by a number of cafes and the local church.
