Full Description

Rain Forest Nature Park – ‘simply beautiful’ 200 acres suitable for an ecotourism project. This large piece of land is situated south of Dennery on the east side of St. Lucia in an area called Mon Repos. The land is an area of natural beauty which needs to be enjoyed and preserved. This land is not suitable for a large commercial development in any way, as it should remain as part of the heritage of St. Lucia which makes the island “simply beautiful” Any development would have to be ecotourism based using only natural materials (i.e. not concrete structures) and using rainwater and solar electricity. From the main Castries / Vieux Fort Highway there is an access road which has been graded and will be part paved. This access road is approx three miles inland. From this point there is a hill which is a one mile (approx) boulder road, which would need concrete strip paving. Grass paths have been cut through the first part of the estate ( a little muddy but would benefit from paving slabs at least part way into the estate). The grass pathways are wide and look very attractive. The land is cut by small tributary ravines all of which run into the Fond River which borders the southern side of the 200 acres. The large areas of land between the ravines was many years ago cleared for agriculture but since then has grown back into lightly forested areas, with a large selection of ferns and various trees including incense trees, yang yang etc. Seclude wooden properties could be built in this area. There are many attractive dells with cathedral bamboos, or planted with ginger lily, bird of paradise etc which provide peaceful seclude havens. The north and west of the 200 acres is approximately 50 acres of natural rainforest again accessible by pathways and not too steep to create secluded walks through an unspoiled and peaceful area of rainforest. There is a road access at the northern side of the rain forest, but this is less accessible to the lower (buildable) area than the road access mentioned above The present owners of the land have priced the land at a very reasonable price to ensure that any purchaser can afford to keep the land area unspoiled and is also willing to allow young St. Lucian to experience this very unique place with the myriad of plant life and birds and animals.
