Price: £24,995

2006/2007 model - ground rent = 2,800€ per annum.

Welcome to our latest Greek island – Kefalonia – steeped in history and renowned for its crystal blue waters, fabulous beaches, rugged landscape and relaxed atmosphere. Our park is directly opposite the beautiful Gulf of Argostoli with the warm waters of the Ionian Sea and just a short distance from the island capital – Argostoli with its busy harbour, traditional architecture and cosmopolitan style restaurants. The park is just 20 minutes’ drive from Kefalonia Airport (taxi cost is approximately 15€).

The park is shaded by many olive trees and is located directly opposite the beach (shallow water) and facilities include a bar, restaurant, childrens’ playground and laundrette and subletting is permitted. Within easy walking distance there are many hidden coves and the St Theodore lighthouse – not only a guiding light for incoming and outgoing ships – but considered to be the most romantic spot in Kefalonia (don’t forget your camera!). This unique circular building is based on 20 white Doric architectural style columns and the tower is 8m high.

The town of Argostoli is within walking distance (approximately 5€ by taxi) and has a lush Botanical Garden, the Archaeological Museum with findings from the Mycenaean, Hellenistic and Roman eras, the beautiful church of Saint Spyridon and a range of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. At the lower end of the harbour is the Drapano Bridge which separates the active harbour from the Koutavos Lagoon – where the warm waters are the summer home for loggerhead turtles. Roughly between 9am and 11am every morning the turtles patrol Argostoli Bay waiting for fisherman to discard any fish they can’t sell!

Inland the landscape is dramatic – Mt Aenos – (nearly 6,000ft high) is one of the highest mountains in Greece – the mountain is covered with unique fir trees and home to wild horses – and the area is now a national park. The lower peaks surrounding the mountain are dotted with abandoned Venetian forts and far below are cave systems dating back more than 150 million years. The caves with their amazing stalagmites and stalactites retain a constant temperature of 18ºC and are open to visitors. The largest cavern has such good acoustics that it is used as a concert venue.

Kefalonia is one of the greenest Greek islands and places worth visiting include the pretty town of Fiskardo with its handsome Venetian buildings, nearby beautiful coves and beaches, Byzantine churches and ruins of a Palaeolithic settlement. Not to be missed is the glorious Antisamos beach with beautiful surroundings – just 30km from Argostoli and famous as the setting for the Hollywood blockbuster “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin”.

Caravans in the Sun has a full range of mobile homes available which are suitable for this park. We can supply any make and model of mobile home including Delta, Willerby, Pemberton, Victory, ABI, Swift, BK, Regal, Tingdene and IRM to name a few, if your choice is not listed please contact us for an accurate sited price.
