The university city of Coimbra is 45 minutes away and like Tomar is filled with a rich diversity of architecture, history, buildings, wonderful pedestrian streets where you can wander and enjoy the lovely and individual shops and cafes. It is a rare day in Coimbra when there is not some form of outside entertainment, be it choirs or talented buskers.

The nearest coastal beach at Figueira da Foz is less than an hour away.

The airports at Lisbon and Porto are 1 ½ hours and 1 ¾ hours away respectively, making this a great location for access to major transportation links.
