Set amidst the grounds of an ancient monastery in the Pafos region of Tsada, this championship 18-hole golf course is the oldest on the island, and was originally designed by Donald Steel, with later enhancements by Mackenzie & Ebert.
With its elevated status, 550 meters above sea level, this par 71 course offers mesmerizing views of undulating green, combined with the tranquil terrain that makes up part of the historic, twelfth century monastery of Stavros tis Minthis. Its fairways swathe through grapevines and mature trees of walnuts, almonds and olives, along with water features that are always followed by cooling breezes, thanks to the altitude.
Opened in 1994, then reopened in 2007 following the extensive enhancements, the 5.843-metre course was originally designed in two loops of nine. Under Mackenzie and Ebert, all green surrounds were reshaped and re-grassed with the 12th hole given an exciting makeover, along with the creation of the island green and the number 13 signature hole. A new driving range was also added with a high tee level overlooking the mountains and a high rock face at the far end.
Under the coaching of a PGA Professional, the Minthis Hills Academy offers two practice putting greens and a 326m² chipping/pitching green - surrounded by three practice bunkers - and a 16 bay elevated driving range.
Its new clubhouse - with restaurant, lounge, golf terrace and cocktail bar - overlooks the greens and a dramatic valley. The culinary team has been trained by the prestigiousAlainDucasseTrainingCenter- transforming the finest local and international ingredients into culinary delights. The 2.000 meter square clubhouse has become the social heart of the resort, and also includes a fully-equipped Pro Shop.-
After an exciting game of Golf or a stroll around the Golf Resort you return to your dwelling. The entrance hall invites you into the comfy property with seperate kitchen to the right and guest's w/c and staircase to the left. The door from the entrance hall opens into a large sitting room with fireplace and dinning area. The patio doors take you out to a covered veranda, heated pool, gazibo and garden where you will enjoy any amount of time spent there.
