Full Description
This property is a good size and has a lot of potencial. The property ground floor was once used as an olive press and the main living accommodation is upstairs. The downstairs is one, large open space so there are numerous things that could be done with this room. This could either be turned into an open space kitchen diner with a bedroom on the side or even as seperate living accommodation either to rent or just for visitors.
The upper flor is where all of the living quarters, kitchen and living rooms are. At present there are 6 rooms upstairs. So there is plenty of space to work with. There would be enough space to be able to convert some of these rooms into en-suites or convert one of the rooms into a Jack and Jill bathroom, giving straight away two bedrooms an en-suite.
The property although being set in a village, does have garden and it is private. The house comes with an annex also in need of work, so they way the house and annex is set out, the property's garden is made into a private courtyard.
As mentioned, the property is set in a village with cafés and mini-market. There is also good public transport links, such bus services, train station and taxi.
The property is located in the village of Madalena which is around 7km from Tomar. Tomar is a bustling market town with a variety of supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, banks, health centres, hospitals, schools, bus and train station and university and is home to the UNESCO listed monument Convento de Cristo. The property is also only a short drive from Castelo do Bode lake, which is popular for all kinds of water sport activities.
The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around one and a half hours' by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
