The property is situated near the village of Castelo in central Portugal and is approximately 10 minutes´ drive from Cernache do Bonjardim, which has a variety of cafes, restaurants, shops, mini-markets, schools, health center, doctors, sports center and post office.
The property is 12 km from the center of the town of Sertã. Sertã is an attractive historic town built on either side of a stunning river setting. It has many restaurants and bars as well as 3 major supermarkets, banks, schools, library, theater, cultural center, municipal swimming pool and river beach. There are also 2 weekly markets, held every Friday, one selling fruit, vegetables and livestock and the other selling clothes, tools, plants, shoes etc.
Central Portugal is famous for its beautiful river beaches of which there are a dozen located within 30 minutes' drive from this property, including the renowned water sports center at Trízio, where the European wake board championship is held.
There are good access roads to the property and the IC8 dual carriageway, which leads to the coastal towns of Figueira da Foz, is a short 10 minute drive away.
Both the university city of Coimbra and the historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, are only a 45 minutes´ drive from the property.
There are a good number of river beaches in the vicinity, and the shores of the Castelo do Bode lake are 10 minutes' drive from the property.
The property is situated at approximately equal distance from Lisbon and Porto airport, both of which are around 2,5 hours' drive away. Both airports are serviced by several low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
