Full Description

Superb Property in Need of Renovation in a Quiet Location at the end of a lane then fields. House with Barns attached Plus Outbuildings set in approx 2,500m2 Land.

Not far from the village of Plonevez du faou, there is tremendous scope for this little cluster of buildings in a hamlet and the
layout of the buildings and land make a nice little square, not overlooked and easy to look after, once renovated.

This property has been neglected and now needs major work to make it habitable. This is reflected into the asking price.

There is a farm as neighbour, but the property is not overlooked. Access down the lane, shared by the farmer to the property, then an opening which could be gated for privacy and access. This leads to the main house which was habitable before it`s neglect.

Electricity and water have been supplied to the house but need to be reconnected.

A new drainage system would need to be installed.

There is:

The main house has a nice big original fireplace in the main room downstairs, plus a smaller room to make a kitchen.
A stairway leading to 2 bedrooms, this area would need dividing up better to allow 2 separate bedrooms and a bathroom, or extending the accommodation into the buildings attached, to the right. (with planning permission).

Also part of the complex is the stone barn, large enough to make a comfortable holiday home (subject to planning approval), measuring 9.5m x 5m.

Positioned at right angles to the main buildings makes it accessible yet private.

The purchaser will have lots of work to do to this property, hence the asking price, but with the development potential, buy an exciting project. It is a great project for a builder wishing to develop in Brittany. Or indeed for someone to invest and undertake the work as and when the budget allows it to develop.

The department of Finistere has a feeling of being carved out of the earth by the sea and is the wildest area of Brittany, it is also the most western of all French departments. The name Finistere comes from the Latin phrase 'finis terrae', meaning 'land's end'.

It has the English Channel to the north, Cotes-d'Armor and Morbihan to the east, the Bay of Biscay to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.

Quimper, the department's capital, is located to the south and has a distinctive Breton character just like all the main towns such as Brest, Chateaulin, Morlaix and Quimper. Over a third of the area is covered with forest, moors and scrubland.

Along the coast, farmers divide their time between commercial fishing and working their small farms. To see the Fish-markets, Douarnenez is worth a visit as is Brest which is on the west coast and is also a major naval port.
