The larger historic town of Tomar famous for it's association with the Knights of the Templar is home to the UNESCO world heritage listed Convento do Cristo. Walking through the town with its meandering river running through it and it's cobbled streets leading through the older parts of to the central square is a delight and only 15 minutes drive away from the property. Tomar offers all modern day amenities including supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, schools, university, library, cinema, hospital, bus station and railway station leading to mainline links to both Lisbon and Porto. There is a covered market for fresh produce, meat and fish open during the week and an additional open air market at the weekends.
The property has good access links to the IC3 Tomar to Coimbra road. The closest airport is Lisbon approximately one and a half hours by car or train. Porto airport is approximately two and a half hours by car or train.
