An unusual and beautiful house absolutely bursting with character features and charm, with beautiful gardens, pool, sunken jacuzzi and wonderful country and sea views, and a separate casita.

This charming rustic style country house is located in the hills above Velez-Malaga, in an area known for some stunning rustic style cottages. This house is ‘back to back’ with another house (although one would never know it and there is complete privacy from all neighbouring houses) and with excellent access. From Triana village it is around 10 minutes and from Los Romanes another 10 minutes.

The Casita

A beautiful front terrace (main section 5 x 3m) has built-in seating and beautiful views. From here double doors lead into the casita living room, (4.25 x 5m) with a very beautiful fully fitted kitchen to the right. Beyond, to the right, is the shower room (2 x 1.75m) and to the far end, a couple of steps lead up to the bedroom (4 x 2.75m) with a central, concrete base bed and air conditioning. This is a very comfortable and charming space, and nicely separated from the main house – ideal for paying guests and family and friends alike.

The Pool Terrace

Just below the casita is the charming pool terrace, with a kidney-shaped pool of around 20m2, and separate sunken jacuzzi with a cover. This delightful area enjoys wonderful views, sunbathing areas, flowering shrubs all around, and the natural shade from a mature palm tree. To one side is a lovely barbeque area, with built-in barbeque and table with bench-style seating – the ideal place to enjoy the beautiful views and wonderful sunsets.

The Main House and Terraces

Following down from the pool terrace is the main house, which stretches out in a long finger with outdoor terraces all the way along. There are three sets of double doors leading into the house and a wonderful cane and beam covered terrace with arches framing the beautiful views – the perfect place to eat, all year round. The central set of doors lead into the hall, which is also used as a dining room (3.5 x 3m). To the right is the living room (4.5 x 3m) with cast iron woodburner, alcoves and original beams. Beyond, a large opening with wonderful curved beam support, is the reading room (3.5 x 2m). These rooms are both beautiful and very homely and comfortable.

To the left of the hall is the fully fitted kitchen (3.5 x 3m) and a short corridor and a few low steps beyond lead past bathroom 1 (around 2.5 x 2.5m, tiled in yellow and with a full sized bath). Beyond is bedroom 1 (4.5 x 3.5m) with double doors back out to the terraces and air conditioning. Continuing on is the shower room (1.5 x 3.5m) with a huge walk-in shower. This room has a door to bedroom 1, and also to bedroom 2, such that it can be offered as a private bathroom for bedroom 2, which is beyond it, if required. Bedroom 2 has its own entrance (double wooden doors) and ‘lobby’ area, (1.5 x 3.5m) and a couple of steps lead to the main area of the room (3 x 3.5m). This bedroom also has air conditioning.

All rooms have beamed ceilings and stunning original, rustic features throughout.

Beyond the arched terrace is a further open terrace, surrounded by flowering jasmine and bougainvillaea.

The ‘Cave Room’

Steps lead down, through a beautiful arbour, to a small seating area with lovely views (and a door leading into the laundry with washing and drying machines, and pool room), and from here a little path leads to the ‘cave room’ under the terrace. This delightful room consists of an area of 2 x 2m, plus a raised concrete base upon which a double mattress fits, to make an extra bedroom. The room also has a shower room (1.5 x 0.75m) with walk-in shower, wash basin and WC.
