The A10 motorway is accessed near the historic Roman town of Saintes, about 20 minutes drive, and Royan has its railway station with services to larger regional towns, including Angoulême where the new LGV trains will whisk you to Paris in two hours. Local airports at La Rochelle and Bordeaux are at around 65 and 85 minutes drive respectively. Regular car and passenger ferries operate from Royan to the Medic Peninsula for visits to the famous Bordeaux wine chateaux or to the Atlantic beaches.
The area is a very popular tourist destination with many attractions and the property could well be profitably run by letting all or parts of it at different times.
