Full Description

4/5 bedrooms – 4 bathrooms – extra rooms to renovate above the house – garden – patios – village location – splash pool for Summer use

A simply stunning village house which could be used as a Bed and Breakfast in the historic centre of this picturesque village close to Lake Viñuela, so beautiful the town hall asked if they could make it a museum – now for sale!

The current owners use this exquisite house as their home and occasionally use the house as a B&B, although the house is fully equipped and prepared to run a full time business. The town hall has confirmed that the owners could apply for opening an official business.

Located right in the historic centre of this pretty village, just 20 minutes from the coast, this stunning house is constantly the focus of interest for passing tourists who regularly stop to snap a photo of its beautiful facade, decked with flowers.

The main house:

The front door leads into the main living room, with beams, beautiful floors and pretty windows and the wonders of the interior in this house begin the instant one steps in the door, as it is a true feast for the eyes! Straight ahead a wide opening topped with original beams, through amazingly thick walls leads to the inner hall. To the left of the living room is the open plan kitchen, fully fitted, through a decorate brick archway, and to the right, a door way leads through to a dining room. There are beautiful floors, beamed ceilings, wall alcoves and a host of wonderfully preserved original features!

Taking the arch into the inner hall area, to the left is an alcove with amazing old beams and to the right, a rustic door leading to the staircase. Beyond, is the rear hall area consisting or a wide corridor-space leading to the downstairs bathroom, and with space for store cupboards and an office area. At the far right hand end of the hall is the old wine press. This is an inner tower, beautifully restored, with light filtering in from windows above, and with a pretty rocky feature in the centre.

To the left of the hallway is the downstairs bedroom, which the current owners say has to be the most peaceful, quiet room that exists, with almost a cave-like feel to it. Next to the door to the bedroom, from the rear hallway, are the doors leading to the rear patio. This is a cool, tranquil little place with table and chairs, with the rockface beyond, making it a totally private outdoors area. A path from this area leads up a few steps to the garden above.

Taking the stairs from the inner hall, we find ourselves on a beautiful landing on the first floor. This floor is dedicated to the guest rooms. To the right leads us through a door to the covered terrace, used by the guests when the owners open the house up as a b&b. This is a delightful area, quiet and private, with plenty of seating and shade from the sun. From here, we walk out into the open courtyard area, and here we find the courtyard gate, used by the guests as their main entrance into the house, and hence avoiding having to have guests coming in via the front door.

From the landing area, are doors to three guest rooms each with their own shower rooms and each with its own individual style. There is also an opening leading into a room currently used as a guest living room with window over the street, and a small communal kitchen area, although this area was originally a fourth upstairs bedroom and could be converted back again if required to make a fourth bedroom and bathroom upstairs.

The extra rooms to renovate

Behind and above the house, accessed via the side street, are three large rooms that could be renovated fully to make studios or an independent house or apartment, a workshop, or a combination of these! From the side path it is also possible to make easy access from these buildings to the rear garden.

The rear garden

Accessed via the private patio on the ground floor, or around the back of the property are the gardens. A quiet little oasis of tranquillity in the middle of the village, this lovely area is already very pretty, but could be made very special, with a fountain, perhaps a little pool for the summer, or even a hot tub! There are plenty of flowering plants, bushes and trees. The garden area is above the house and so has views over part of the village and the surrounding hills.

This lovely house has been described by the town hall as a wonderful living museum! It is a part of the living heart of the village and very much a part of its history. This is therefore an opportunity to acquire something quite unique and enjoy it, and run it as a small business for others to enjoy too.
