This very pretty house stands in its own grounds of six acres, and has a further 4 acres. It stands proud on a small hillside, and is surrounded by natural beauty. You approach across a bridge, and the house faces you. There is a large terrace in front of the house, for eating and relaxing. The first part of the house is the "summer kitchen", and enclosed terrace, just adjacent to the terrace. Next there is the main kitchen and dining room, and then a parlour. There is also a large bedroom on this ground floor, and a shower room and WC. There are two further bedrooms upstairs, and a shower room and separate WC.
There is also a wine cellar and store room, and up above the house is the old two storey stone "Clède" (used for storing and drying chestnuts in the past), which could be converted into a small guest annexe. Behind the house the land rises on terraces, or "faisses", which are beautifully walled, and flat. All round the house are many walks. The land is mainly wooded and sloping.
The nearest town is the old mining town of Bessèges, which has all facilities. Five minutes by car, or 25 minutes' walk, is the main river which is ideal for bathing, and has special areas for this. In summer there is a lovely restaurant open here too. You are right in the foothills of the beautiful Cévennes, a Unesco natural park. 45 minutes away, near Villefort (water sports centre) you can overland ski in winter. In the opposite direction you are not far from Barjac (Renaissance village with very popular market) and Les Vans, a medieval town with excellent restaurants and weekly market.
