Metaxourgio - a traditional neighborhood located in the north-west of Athens' historic center. The area was designed by the architect Chr. Hansen. Its name came by itself - once there was a factory of silk fabrics Metaxa, who worked until 1875. Despite the fact that the building is conserved more than a century, the name factory locals still call this part of town. Over time, the name was registered officially Metaxourgio. The most famous streets of the area - and Ahileos Giatrakos.
