Full Description

Stone Built Property to Renovate located in an Idyllic Location in a rural hamlet with neighbours. A Stone Barn to the rear and set in private grounds of 1462 m2. Planning Permission approved but expired.

The location of this property is set in the peaceful countryside. The garden/land is all level and to the rear of the property where there is a large stone barn. This land is not overlooked. The roof covering needs attention, as it has been left empty for several years. There is huge potential for this property and with a total renovation, will make a lovely home. The main house has a ground floor, first floor and loft space.

Plus the smaller attached stone property to make it into one large house.

Planning permission to renovate has been applied for several years ago, this has now lapsed, but I have the plans in the office to re-submit, should someone wish to use the same design. The soil study has been done for a new drainage system.

The department of Finistere has a feeling of being carved out of the earth by the sea and is the wildest area of Brittany, it is also the most western of all French departments. The name Finistere comes from the Latin phrase 'finis terrae', meaning 'land's end'.

It has the English Channel to the north, Cotes-d'Armor and Morbihan to the east, the Bay of Biscay to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.

Quimper, the department's capital, is located to the south and has a distinctive Breton character just like all the main towns such as Brest, Chateaulin, Morlaix and Quimper. Over a third of the area is covered with forest, moors and scrubland.

Along the coast, farmers divide their time between commercial fishing and working their small farms. To see the Fish-markets, Douarnenez is worth a visit as is Brest which is on the west coast and is also a major naval port.
