    Our holiday begins on the day we land as we go straight to the beach, lunching at our favourite restaurant which is 15mins from the house. The warmth, beautiful blue skies and sunny sea views are a complete tonic after English greyness. Late afternoon we drive through olive groves to the village, and watch the sun go down over the spectacular mountain range you can see from the terrace with a glass of incredibly cheap and delicious wine. Shops are just a minute's walk away, open till 10:30pm and we can buy what we fancy for dinner at the last minute. No plans, no hassle. When we get bored of the beach, there is a great selection of outings to be had by visiting local villages and lunching there, plus cities a bit further. One of our favourite jaunts is to a prehistoric cave about an hour away - a family own it and you are shown the cave paintings by oil lamp! It's very unspoilt and an unforgettable experience. Last year we drove to Tarifa and went whale watching which was amazing. Walkers, birdwatchers, sunbathers or relaxers will all find heaven in Casares, not to mention those who enjoy tapas and a glass of vino! There is a different restaurant for each day of the week. It is a 'lock and leave' rustic haven and great for a cheap holiday in the sun from May - October. Lettings pay for the very low running costs and I am meeting an Airbnb owner further up the street who will run lettings for us. Housekeeper, Pilar, in place who does all the maintenance, laundry and cleaning.
