This well designed villa, mainly on one floor, but with a mezzanine bedroom, is set in its own grounds just five minutes' walk away from St Jean de Serres. The house has lots of useful outdoor space, with three terraces, play area, a lovely modern pool house with summer kitchen and sitting room (which could be converted easily into an independent apartment) and large garden.
St Jean de Serres is a charming little stone village, with basic amenities, including a restaurant/bar. There is also a primary school here. Just 10 minutes away by car is the provençal town of Anduze, nestling on the edge of the Cevennes national park. 15 minutes in the other direction is the larger town of Alès, which has supermarkets, DIY, cinemas, theatre, lots of restaurants and cafés, and even a 'beach? in the summer! Lots of festivals are held here in the summer, including the famous bull running 'Feria d'Alès?. Nimes airport is about 40 minutes away by car, and Montpellier airport one hour 1h15minutes.
In this region swimming is popular in isolated and magical surrounding rivers, and other outdoor activities include horse-riding, kayaking, cycling and mountain climbing. There are many fascinating cities to visit, including Nîmes, Avignon, Anduze, Alès, Uzès, Montpellier and Marseille, and the Mediterranean coast is also close at Grau-du-Roi, Sainte Marie de la Mer and the Camargue.
There is so much to see and do here - stunning walks, canoeing, many famous caves including the Caverne Pont d'Arc, with its cave paintings, recently opened to the public. The Ardèche Gorges are very close by, and are not to be missed. You can swim in the rivers, go to water parks, visit lovely old walled towns, have a coffee in the sunshine or go wine tasting at one of the many vineyards.
