The house is about a 5 minute walk to the main centre which has a myriad of little side streets where one can stumble upon the quaintest of family owned restaurants offering a mouth watering selection of local cuisine. Stari Grad also has a record beating number of cafe bars which is a pre requisite to the Mediterranean style of life. The local area also boasts some excellent beaches in the vicinity.

Stari Grad ferry port is home to Jadrolinija who offer a comprehensive service to the mainland with up to 6 ferry crossings in the summer months. Nearby town of Jelsa, has a daily catamaran service also run by Jadrolinija to Split via the town of Bol on Brac Island. In addition their is also the new and highly acclaimed European Coastal Airline service which has several daily flights from Jelsa to Split airport in under 15 minutes!
