This 400-year-old stone house is the only one of its kind. The exact history is not known regarding the initial construction however it must have been someone fairly important in the area. In each of the main rooms over three levels there are vaulted ceilings. Normally vaults would only be a feature on the ground floor or basement levels. The previous owner was a local metal worker who recreated the iron works for the external window openings in the original style. He also brought in a team of tradesmen from Portugal specialising in vaulted ceilings to refurbish the internal walls and vaults.
