It is well situated for a large part of Brittany especially the fabulous coastline and the Crozon peninsular, a well renowned natural area Audierne itself is a lovely old port revitalised as a tourist spot with all sorts of quirkty shops, lots of cafe/bars old and new, all the other necessary facilities and a lovel beach just round the corner at the end. Plouhinec, its neighbour, is a more traditional old stretched town with lots of interesting bits and pieces, not least a fishermans bar in the old port which serves a great four course meal, wine and coffe for 11,80 euros.
This really is a great base for either short weekends or much longer stays.
