Rojales is a typical spanish village with the River Segura flowing through the centre of the town. It is a very historical area with traditional cave homes in the area that you can visit and view their local art displays. The town centre hosts a variety of shops, bars and restaurants offering Spanish and British cuisine. There is a lovely village square, beautiful church and a museum. On a Thursday morning beside the river there is a market to buy the local fresh vegetables and produce. The town also has a number of discos if you want to dance the night away.

Rojales is situated just inland from the coastal town of Guardamar del Segura. Guardamar del Segura is situated 35km from Alicante and 14km from Torrevieja. It is also located at the mouth of the river Segura. It is a typical Spanish town which not only has some of the best beaches in Spain, it also has an excellent street market every Wednesday morning and some brilliant shops, bars and restaurants. Large pine forest abutting an 11-km-long white sand beach with many beach bars benefitting from having the best views of the Mediterranean sea. Guardamar del Segura hosts great lively local festivals.

There is also the town of Ciudad Quesada which is approximately an 8 minute drive from Rojales. Quesada is a small town located near the salt lakes in Torrevieja. In 2010 there were 15,607 inhabitants Ciudad Quesada. Ciudad Quesada is located south of the municipality of Rojales and is located only 4 km to beautiful beaches in Guardamar. The small town has a great selection of bars, restaurants, supermarkets etc. The northern part of Ciudad Quesada is built around an 18-hole golf course called La Marquesa (The Marquise). Quesada is situated only 12km to the well established town of Torrevieja. Torrevieja was originally a salt-mining and fishing village as it is located between the sea and two large salt lakes (Las Salinas), which give Torrevieja a healthy micro climate.
