Description complète
The small town of Lucainena, which has around 550 inhabitants, is steeped in history and is a maze of narrow streets where all the properties are adorned with plant pots either on the floor, in the windows or hanging on the walls.
Although it is a town that dates back centuries, the current Lucainena is very much a modern day version with a lot of investment having been made and welcomes tourists throughout the year to its festivals and fiestas.
With a selection of restaurants, tapas bars, grocery store, pharmacy, medical facilities, school, church, a municipal swimming pool and sports facilities including open air gym equipment and padel court, the town certainly has more to offer than you may think at first glance.
The house has been a holiday home and full time residence for the current owners over the last few years, with both working equally well for them.
The entrance to the property is through the front garden which takes the sun from early morning and is furnished with a stone and ceramic tiled table, BBQ, and also has a storage area along the side of the house.
Passing under the covered entrance terrace you enter the open plan living, dining room and kitchen; with the living room set to one side and the kitchen dining to the other.
The living room area is comfortably furnished and has a log burning stove and air conditioning. The kitchen is fully fitted including white goods.
To the rear of the ground floor there is a double bedroom and a shower room with bespoke shower cubicle, toilet and basin.
Going up to the first floor there is a landing that gives access to two more bedrooms and another bathroom.
The largest of the bedrooms is to the front of the property and it is easy to understand why it is used as the master bedroom when you see the views that it has.
The third bedroom, currently utilised as a storage room, is designed as a twin room and the bathroom has bath with shower over, toilet and basin.
Returning to the master bedroom and stepping out onto the terrace the views are just amazing. There is a feature seating area to one end of the terrace and a staircase at the other leading to the roof top solarium.
Needless to say, the views from the solarium get even better and with a summer kitchen and traditional Andalucia blue and white tiled seating and sunbathing features, the solarium is an area in which you would want to enjoy many hours relaxing.
The house benefits gas powered hot water, ceiling fans, mosquito screens and is being sold part furnished. An inventory is available on request.
As already detailed, the town has many facilities for day-to-day living and for those extra items the town of Sorbas is only a 12 minute drive away and Tabernas is 20 minutes.
As well as the sports facilities that are available in the town there are also designated walks / cycle tracks including the Via Verde with several monuments and view points along the route.
There are also historical points of interest in and around the town including the Laverdero, Mineras de Lacainena and Hornos de Calcinación.
Add to all of the above bread and paella fiestas and other celebrations throughout the year, if you are looking for a traditional Spanish village that has a lot to offer than Lucainena de las Torres is one that you should visit.
