Maison de 2 chambres à vendre à Lajatico
Lajatico, Pise, Toscane, Italie
Description complète
Exceptional, quality two bed apartment with terrace in an historical 'palazzo' building dating from 1830, in the heart of a pretty Tuscan village.
The property has been beautifully restored in recent years and it is now a gem of a place from which to explore the whole of Tuscany. On the second floor of the building, the property is entered into a very well-kept communal area, from which there is a private entrance door to the apartment, into the living room. The authentic Tuscan features of exposed stone, beamed ceilings, beautiful terracotta floors and an open fireplace give warmth and character. The kitchen/ dining room is well-equipped and holds a table and chairs, and flows out to the lovely terrace which overlooks green gardens. There are two double bedrooms, both charming, one with a brick vaulted ceiling, and a nicely fitted bathroom with shower. From every window is a stunning view over the breathtaking Tuscan landscape.
The village is pretty and well-kept with typical Tuscan charm and there is a grocery shop, bank and a cafe/bar and also a very good restaurant close by (truffles are the specialty). The village is famous for the local Chestnut Festival and for the excellent regional olive oil. Just a few kilometers away is the lovely town of Lajatico, birthplace of the tenor Andrea Boccelli, set in the rolling hills. The natural contours of the land have been used to create the Teatro del Silenzio where the singer holds a concert in July every year together with other internationally famous singers. This open air theatre, Il Teatro di Silenzio, was built specifically to host this annual event and it draws the best musicians to perform, from all over the world. The quintessential Tuscan countryside around Lajatico offers superb views and beautifully restored properties. The town is located in Valdera in Central Tuscany between Pisa and Florence and this colourful landscape of rolling hills dotted with medieval villages, castles and lanes flanked with tall dark green cypress trees epitomises the Tuscan landscape.
The area is scattered with historical towns and medieval villages, castles and country churches and a landscape with golden meadows of wheat dancing in the breeze, vineyards, olive groves and fields of sunflowers. Meandering through the countryside of Valdera you feel the vestiges of the mysterious Etruscan civilization. Casciana Terme, also close by, has thermal waters and spa facilities and is another pretty town with piazzas and cafès serving the local wine. The città d’arte (cities of art) include Volterra, San Gimignano, Palaia and Florence which are all on the doorstep.
Distances: Lajatico 10 km, Volterra 15 kms, Casciana Terme 25 km, San Gimignano 30 kms, Beaches 45 kms, Pisa (airport) 55 kms, Lucca 60 kms, Florence 95 kms.
