This old town house has been in our family now for over ten years

We were originally looking for a holiday home with a big garden , however as soon as we opened the door on this bedraggled 3 bedroom town house we were struck with its beauty, serenity and friendliness, and we fell in love immediately. The fact that it had no outside space fell into insignificance.

The house itself is made from the meteorite composite stone and it holds an interesting energy .... A combination of heaven and earth. The wall in the hallway has been stripped back to show off this stone

We had work to do on the house to bring it up to modern days needs

Each of the three large bedrooms all have a radiator, were given their own En-suite bathrooms that include a shower, washbasin, and toilet.

Downstairs there is a large kitchen/ dining room with working fireplace, sink and free-standing oak kitchen units and a cupboard that homes the washing machine. There is also a floor to ceiling pantry cupboard. there is secondary double glazing, two radiators, electric sockets, and TV socket.

Living room also has a working fireplace, I have chosen to stand an electric wood burning stove effect fire in place for easy quick heating. There is a telephone point in this room and a TV areal socket and a radiator

Hall stairs and landing

There is a big walk in cupboard situated off the downstairs hall, great place to store away all the " stuff" there is also a radiator in the downstairs hall. At the bottom of the stairs you can see the stone masons mark.

Downstairs bathroom ... This is the original bathroom for the house it houses a bath!!! Quite an unusual thing to find in a French house, bidet, and washbasin ... I have been toying with the idea of changing this room into a utility room that would be accessed from the kitchen whilst keeping a downstairs toilet that is accessed from the hallway

There is a storage cupboard on the upstairs landing that I use for towels and bedding for my B and B guests

Under the house accessible down a no through road. There are two cellars. The first houses a huge bread oven that would have serviced the village and the oil central heating system ...This is old but it works, when on it also heats the hot water. During the summer months there is an electric water heater. I have also found it large enough to park a small car. The second cellar houses the oil tank, or submarine more like. This is a double height and could be made into an independent gite / granny flat.

The house has been recently re wired and insulated, since the DPE was done.

Situated in the centre of a beautiful small French town famous for its chateau, open to the public, situated on the Richard the lion heart trail it also homes on of France's more well-known modern art exhibition. Outdoor musical events are held in its grounds throughout the summer .the town also has a meteorite Museum , one of the largest meteorites that have hit our planet to date fell here many thousands of years ago , making some interesting geology to be explored .

Doctors, dentists, restaurant, bar, bakery and supermarket and all other amenities you would find in a small town are all within walking distance.

This area of France is in the natural park with lots of woods and swimming/ fishing lakes. Plenty of well signposted walks too. It is 2.5 hrs from the beaches at Bordeaux and La Rochelle

The nearest airport is Limoges 40 min away, Ryanair fly into here making it an easily accessible destination.
