CORTIJO LA ALMUNIA, 7 KILOMETERS FROM THE VILLAGE OF GAUCIN, OFF THE ALGECIRAS/RONDA ROAD IS THE ORIGINAL CORTIJO or estate farm house on the Almunia estate. The town hall records date the house to the early 1900s and it is still the historical focal point or principal building of the area.

From the mid 1980s the Cortijo was run as a well known BED AND BREAKFAST and restaurant and was the main building of the Almunia private estate which grew up around it.
