ALOZAINA
Located along the A366 Málaga to Ronda road, Alozaina is on of the eight ¨pueblos blancos¨ guarding the Sierra de las Nieves (Natural Park). Charming whitewashed houses adorned with potted plants and an imposing church mark the pretty town, which was once recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Many old architectural features are still shown this day, like the big Moorish archway, which leads you into the village. The mountains and natural scenery of the great outdoors, provide a tranquil and relaxing environment. An ideal spot for a rural getaway or a family home! The name Alozaina comes from Arabic “Alhosaina” or “Altazaina”, which means small castle. Other studies divide the word in “Alto” or “Alho”, which is translated in to Small Mountain. And “Zaina”, which means airy, healthy for the body. Which is not surprising gathering that the whole of the countryside is covered with olive groves, avocados, mangos, and lots of other citrus trees and crop. Alozaina is a classic Andalusian village, full of pretty streets and lovely neighbors. The village has plenty of tapas bars and bodegas with local products to enjoy. And then there are the beautiful mountain views … The ideal place to enjoy a true Spanish lifestyle. Alozaina is located 50 minutes (50 km.) from the city of Málaga and the airport. The beaches of the Costa del Sol (Torremolinos) are a 45 minutes (34 km.) drive away.
