The farmhouse is set in 6,000 sqm of land, and consists of a good four bedroomed house which is habitable as it is, but requires modernisation and restoration. Steps lead up to the pretty entrance loggia, and entering the building the character and charm are apparent. There are heavily beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and a huge fireplace. Underneath the current accommodation, at ground level there are extensive 'cantina' which are used for storage but offer additional potential. Next to the main house is another sizeable barn building which could provide ideal guest accommodation. There is a possibility of a swimming pool in the level garden. The location is entirely private. The property is approached on a short 'strada bianca', a good unpaved road. There is plenty of private parking.

Montecatini Val di Cecina is a medieval town overlooking the green valley. Caught in a time warp, entering the village is like stepping back to where time stands still. The countryside extends from the mountains to the east, through the vineyards terraced on the low hills and down to the Mediterranean scrub with pine woods and brooms to the west. The golden hills are planted with orchards, vineyards and olive groves. Very popular are the thriving copper mine caves that made this town very prosperous in the past. The mine has now been converted into a fascinating museum for visitors.

Val di Cecina is the place to be for nature enthusiasts: from the village, you can follow a variety of different nature trails that take you through enchanting historic sites, such as a bridge crossing the torrent or scenic vista points offering views of the Val di Cornia and the Gulf of Piombino. The thermal baths of Bagnone, a Hellenistic structure which dates from the 3rd century BC, reopened to the public recently after undergoing archeological digs. The 'Terme di Montecatini' are exceptionally beautiful and the thermal waters, rich in minerals, flow from the ground at between 40° and 70° celsius. The natural spa can be enjoyed in glorious surroundings.
