Description complète

Spacious house set in a lively village of Lunigiana with wonderful countryside views.

Detached village house set in the middle of the little village of Amola, in the heart of Lunigiana. The house is from the 1960s and has a characteristic portico entrance of the period and is entered from an external staircase. The accommodation is on one level and comprises a living room and large kitchen with fireplace which opens onto an open veranda and which has access to a pretty stone courtyard. There are three bedrooms (two double and one single) and a bathroom.

On the ground floor are two large 'fondi' (store rooms) and living room and a summer kitchen with wood fire for pizzas and bread.

Just 50m from the house, across a little lane is the land which belongs to the property which has a panoramic view across open countryside (around 200 sqm), which is mostly used as a vegetable garden. It may be possible to buy additional land by separate negotiation.

Easy car access and parking. Central heating and all services connected.

Amola is famous for the Sagra della Focaccina which takes place on the last weekend of August. The focaccia are cooked in traditional terracotta dishes and are served with large trays of prosciutto and stracchino cheese. Also served are the Lunigiana specialities of testaroli, torta d'erba, tagliatelle and ravioli. The sagra is hosted by all the volunteers from the village and the proceeds are donated to local charities.

The larger town of Licciana Nardi is close by. Licciana Nardi is a town in the Taverone valley with 13th century pedestrian street flanked with local shops. Central in the town is the Piazza del Municipio which hosts the 16th century Malaspina castle and many festivals such as the Chestnut Festival in the autumn. The castle is linked to the baroque church by a covered bridge so that the noblemen had direct access to prayer and dealings with the local priest. There is also a bank, schools, restaurants, coffee bars and medical facilities. The nearby village of Monti has a castle on the hill above and offers a good selection of amenities.

Lunigiana is a magical part of Tuscany. The rolling landscape is liberally sprinkled with castles of Medici or Malaspina vintage and for lovers of the coast the sea is only half-an-hours’ drive away. Lunigiana is special and has been likened to a magical kingdom. The golden sandy beaches around Lerici and the pebble coves of the Cinque Terre are ideal for swimming and sailing. The area is criss-crossed with marked footpaths for walks to the hills and mountains. The airports of Pisa, Parma and Genova are all just over an hour away.

Distances: Licciana Nardi 3 km, Aulla (autostrada, trains) 15 km, Lerici (beaches) 40 km, Cinque Terre 50 km, Lucca 90 km, Pisa (airport) 90 km, Florence 140 km.
