Description complète

6 bedrooms – 3 bathrooms – private gardens and pool – jacuzzi – workshop – garage – 1500m2 plot – edge of a hamlet

A very beautiful detached house with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, plus an annexe with a further bedroom and a bathroom by the pool, set in lovely gardens, in the countryside, on the edge of a pretty hamlet and walking distance to the village of Mondron.

This lovely house is set on its own, completely flat plot of 1500m2, with front, side and rear gardens and planted with mature palm trees. Access is via an asphalted country lane leading to the hamlet and it is located just a few minutes from Mondron and within 7 minutes’ drive of Periana and 10/15 minutes from Riogordo.

The fully fenced property has access via two gated entrances, both with off-street parking, one side with a driveway leading to the large garage, and the other with a driveway leading to a covered carport.

The gardens to the front are laid partly to lawn, with mature palm trees and a covered, columned porch area of 5.5 x 4m, with a front door leading into the large hallway (5 x 3m). To the left of the hallway, double doors and 2 steps lead down to the ‘reading’ room, furnished with sofas, and from here there are marble stairs leading to the upper floor, and a door into the large living room (4.25 x 4m). The living room has a corner woodburner for the cooler Winter months, and a wide opening leads straight into the dining room (4.5 x 3m), which has double doors out onto the rear patio.

Back in the hallway, to the rear left is the door to the fully fitted kitchen (5 x 3m) with large gas hob and built-in eye level electric oven and microwave. To the left of the kitchen is a door leading into a large, very useful ‘pantry’.

To the right hand side of the hallway, an arch leads to a short corridor. From here is access to Bedroom 1 (4 x 4m) with a window to the front garden, the study (3 x 2.5m, this room has no window, but it has a door giving access to the garage), Bedroom 2 (3 x 2.5m) with window to the rear patio, and the downstairs bathroom (2.5 x 2m) which has a double shower of 1.25 x 0.5m, and a window to the rear.

The garage, accessed from the study and also from one of the two outside driveways, is a spacious 9 x 5m with high, gabled roof.

Returning to the reading room, the marble stairs lead to the upper floor and a corridor leading to Bedroom 3, (3 x 3m) with window to the front, the upstairs bathroom (3.25 x 2m) with bath and overhead shower, tiled in white, Bedroom 4 (3.25 x 2.5m) currently furnished with twin beds and window to the rear, and Bedroom 5 (4 x 3m plus 1 x 1.5m with wardrobe) with window to the front. The whole of the upstairs is tiled with marble floors and the stairwell has an attractive glass brick feature set into the wall, bringing in plenty of light.

Outside, the rear patio is on two levels, with a barbecue area with a mature olive tree in the centre, and the lemon tree patio next to it, with a lemon tree featuring in the centre. These areas have natural shade and a pergola cover with grapevines, and to the side of the house is a further lovely area with stone tiling and citrus fruit trees. An arched arbour leads from here into the main garden, which has excellent soil for planting. Little paths lead through to different areas of the garden, and there is also very useful tool shed/workshop (4 x 2.5m). The garden has plenty of fruit trees, and two raised vegetable growing beds and is lined with tall cypress trees and mature olive trees. Beyond the gardens are glimpses of the dramatic and beautiful landscape of the surrounding countryside.

The swimming pool is around 7 x 3.5m, with walk-in steps and tiled terracing around. At the far end is an annexe, which consists of a large, covered verandah which could be filled in with glass curtains and a small kitchenette could be installed. At present it houses the jacuzzi. To the far end is a shower room (1.5 x 4m) with a huge walk-in shower, and at the other end are double doors into the sixth bedroom (4 x 4m).

The house has mains electricity and water, and also has the advantage of having an ‘acequia’ or local irrigation water channel passing across the land, which means access to irrigation water too (see photos).

This delightful detached villa is surrounded by glorious countryside and it is possible to walk to the village of Mondron, where there is a shop and lovely country bar/restaurant (around 15 mins walk). Periana and Riogordo are only a short drive away and the coast is around 40 minutes.
