Is now the time to buy in Italy?

Favourable market conditions and exchange rates mean that now is the time to make an investment in Italian property according to one local property expert.

"The euro is weak against sterling, in fact the weakest it has been since November 2008 and there are plenty of great value properties to be found in Italy right now, so don't delay book your viewing trips as soon as you can," says Linda Travella of Casa Travella, who has specialised in Italian property sales for 25 years.

Travella also believes that vendors in Italy are also more open to negotiating with potential buyers, citing a three-bed Tuscan property with a pool currently on her books which has been reduced from €280,000 to €245,000.
