Strong demand for luxury homes in Swiss Alps

Andermatt Swiss Alps, a new luxury property resort, has reported strong demand for its new build homes in Switzerland.

Located two hours from Zurich, the developer behind the project claims that around £40 million worth of properties have already been secured, along with a further £20 million in reservations.

The project is being presented as one of Europe's sleekest and most responsible construction designs, with a choice of 30 different architectectual styles available.

Once completed, Andermatt Swiss Alps will consist of 30 villas, 490 apartments and six hotels with 844 rooms, including the showpiece Hotel Chedi Andermatt, which will open in 2013. The scheme will also feature a new 18-hole golf course, also scheduled to open in 2013.

Owners at Andermatt Swiss Alps will also benefit from a varied range of year round lifestyle pursuits such as hiking, cycling, golfing, canoeing, skiing, horse riding and paragliding.

Prices in existing residential buildings Hirsch, Steinadler, Murmeltier and Steinbock are currently available from £11,700 per square metre. Residences at the inaugural hotel The Chedi Andermatt are available from around £1.4 million.
