Eric and Maria have lived in the same Hampshire town all their married life. Eric, who's half French, has been dreaming of retiring to France and living a life filled with golf, fishing and red wine. But Maria's roots run deep in Romsey and she is struggling with the thought of tearing herself away from friends and family. She wants to move house, but not move town, let alone country.
Maria and Eric Dennis have lived in the same terraced house in Romsey, Hampshire, for the last 29 years. Now that their youngest son is about to graduate, the couple finally have time to focus on themselves and take up an early retirement. But where?
Maria wants to stay in Romsey with friends and family, particularly her elderly mother, but wants to upsize from the couple's current house. Eric has other ambitions and wants to take that once in a lifetime chance to follow his heritage back to a mortgage free life in the south of France. Will they be able to make a decision?
