Jeremy and Rosemary are soon to be retired and are looking for a holiday home that will give them a rental investment and a relaxing bolt hole. They want great views but can't agree whether these should be of the Kent coast or the mountains of Turin.
Rosemary thinks that they would get more use out of a home in Kent and that it would be easy to manage when tenants were staying. Jeremy however thinks that Italy would mean they could finally switch off from their hectic lives and enjoy a more relaxed pace of life, plus guarantee good weather. Will practical Rosemary win the day, or will Jeremy convince her to make a decision with her heart, and not her head?
Home properties - Folkestone
The jetsetting couple have travelled extensively, hence Jeremy's desire to settle in Italy. But if it's travel they're after, they can take a ferry or eurostar over to France in time for lunch, and still be within striking distance of London and their family as a result of Folkestone's excellent transport links when they get back. Thes links have encouraged a lot of redevelopment in the area and interest from commuters is at an all time high thanks to high speed rail links which will serve Jeremy and Rosemary well. The garden of England is also a popular place for visitors so the couple should have no problem renting their property out. Nearby are golf courses, the sea and of course the famous chalky cliffs, all of which attract footfall.

Away properties - Turin
Immortalised in the classic film The Italian Job, Turin has tourists flocking for its mix of perfect ski, beautiful mountains and sunshine drenched beaches. For Jeremy, there is nothing like the Italian way of life and food, plus the rental potential is going to be high all year round. That is if he can convince Rosemary to relocate to a land where cafe culture is more important than commuter culture.
