Jim and Susan Robinson have spent their lives looking after their family and business and have been so busy they've only found time to go on holiday once every five years. On a recent trip Susan fell in love with the French countryside and is now desperate for the couple to see out their retirement in the sun.
Jim isn't so sure. He wants to stay near their daughters and grandchildren and would prefer a relocation to the Cotswolds. But will Susan convince him, and the rest of the familly, that their quality of life will be improved thousands of miles away?
Home properties - The Cotswolds
The Cotswold area is bounded by Bath, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon. It is a warm and appealing countryside location, which is seen by locals and tourists as being 'typically English'. Famous for its honey coloured stones and dry stone walls, the region has the highest number of listed buildings in England. And it is also home to some of the finest landscapes the country has to offer. As a result the area has a magnetic attraction for many, including artists, historians, naturalists, cyclists and walkers – indeed anyone with a love for rural peace and the tranquility of the English countryside. This popularity has meant the property market in the area is stable, with the average detached house costing £342,800.

Away properties - Rodez, France
Susan has falled hard for the Rodez area of France and it's not hard to see why. Filled with rivers flowing through magnificent deep gorges, the site is ideal for canoeists, walkers and naturalists alike. In the south of the region, sheep dominate and their milk is used for making Roquefort cheese which is matured in limestone caves. With ten sites that carry the title of "Most Beautiful French Villages" (Sainte-Eulalie d’Olt, Saint-Côme-d’Olt, Sauveterre de Rouergue, Estaing, Conques, Brousse le Château, Belcastel, Najac, Le Couvertoirade and Peyre), Aveyron boasts more of the beautiful villages than any other department. But will Jim's head be turned, or will his heart stay in England with his family?
