A Parisian property which was once the home of the Impressionist painter Renoir has gone on sale for €7.8 million. The 3,000-square-foot Château des Brouillards in the city’s arty Montmartre district has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a traditional French country kitchen, 20-foot-high ceilings, views of the Sacré Coeur and an indoor pool (part of a multi-million euro makeover by the current owners, who bought the house in 2008 for just over €4 million). Original features include the floral wallpaper, the property’s ornate iron banister and the artfully overgrown garden which has not been redesigned since Renoir took inspiration from it. The master painted lived in the house, which was built in 1772, during the 1800s. It was here that he raised his son, the filmmaker Jean Renoir. The property is being sold by Immobest International
