If you're planning to rent out your overseas property, there's a lot to think about to make it a success.

Firstly, are you planning to use the property yourself and therefore prefer short-term holiday lets?  Or are you looking for longer-term tenants?  Preparing your property for rentals is key. Make sure it's well equipped and offers everything your customers will need. Think about leaving a welcome pack with information on the surrounding area and even some basic food supplied to get them started.

 

How are you going to attract interest - should you build your own website or choose to list the property with a specialist holiday home company?  And finally, how will you manage the property? Unless you are living on-site yourself, you'll need a regular cleaner to manage the changeover between guests and a property maintenance person or company to take care of everything else.  More tools and advice here.
