Amanda Lamb
Amanda is the presenter of the phenomenally successful A Place in the Sun, A Place in the Sun Revisited, Celebrity A Place in the Sun and Top Twenty Best for Channel 4.
Born in Portsmouth, Amanda was an estate agent for four years before embarking on a six year modelling career. Amanda has appeared in commercials for companies as diverse as Gossard, Oil of Olay and Remington. As an estate agent, her favourite story is when she arrived at a house to show a prospective buyer around it - it was very untidy with take-away cartons and dirty dishes everywhere - and so she tidied before showing it to her client. When she returned to the office she discovered that a different agent had sold the property two weeks previously.
Amanda is also the presenter of Housetrapped in the Sun for Channel 4, was one of the presenters of TV Mail for the BBC and other work includes Ideal Home for Channel 4 and Surprise Wedding for LWT. She has recently filming A Place in the Sun Down Under for Channel 4 and Hot Shots for Discovery.
Amanda also writes a regular column for A Place in the Sun magazine.
Jonnie Irwin
With a dad as a developer, Jonnie Irwin has property in his blood. After graduating with a degree in estate management then worked as a surveyor and has since valued, acquired and sold all types of property.
Jonnie's field of expertise is with advising businesses, such as shops, pubs, hotels, on buying and selling. With such in-depth experience behind him, Jonnie decided to embark on a career in TV, where he could put his specialist skills to further use. He landed his first job as presenter of the home leg of A Place In The Sun Home or Away and has just finished filming his third series. "These last 3 years have been amazing," he says. "I love the interaction with the people I help on the show and we always manage to have a bit of fun - I even enjoy the parts where I get stitched up, though I did baulk a bit when I had to re-enact a battle with an 18-stone Saxon warrior!" Drawing on his expertise from his professional background and with just the right balance of humour, Jonnie is proving a popular new face on Channel 4. He hasn't totally abandoned his previous career, however, and has kept working links with an international property firm and runs a small property and business transfer consultancy.
A keen sportsman, he relishes the chance to try new activities on the show and most recently took part in a toilet-racing event. Perhaps another career change?
Jasmine Harman
Before presenting A Place in the Sun, Jasmine had a successful career in the health and fitness industry. She was a Health Club Manager in the UK but was headhunted for the position of Marketing Manager for an exclusive Health Spa in Portugal where in addition to her day to day job she organised events, redesigned their corporate image, ran advertising and promotions campaigns.
Amazingly she also found time to start working with Algarve's major radio station, Kiss FM - she hosted her own twice-weekly show which was a mixture of music and chat and interviewed such star guests as Gloria Gaynor. Not content with two jobs, Jasmine took on yet another as a journalist and wrote a regular health page for a glossy Algarve magazine.
Wanting to expand her horizons still further Jasmine's thoughts turned to working in television, so when she saw a website advertising for presenters on A Place in the Sun she decided to give it a go and went for an audition.
Freeform TV immediately spotted her potential and with her natural interest in travel and having lived abroad offered her the job of the abroad presenter on the new spin-off programme A Place In The Sun - Home Or Away. Jasmine then went on to present this latest series of A Place in the Sun.
Ryan Philpot
Compering all the action on the main stage is Ryan Philpot, one half of the comedy duo Twangling Jack. Ryan is also an accomplished actor, appearing in Rosemary and Thyme, The Bill and more recently as PC Kenny Morris in Eastenders.
